Library Street Collective is pleased to announce Sacred Masses, a group exhibition featuring the work of Conrad Egyir, Lizzy Lunday, Hannah Lupton Reinhard, and Alexandria Smith. Imbuing contemporary figures with a mythical, spiritual, and sometimes uncanny energy the artists in this exhibition connect everyday figures with a celestial power. By depicting either themselves, their close companions, or pop culture personalities, the source imagery used by these artists roots the content of their work squarely in our present day. Yet, each artist’s painterly expression and materiality brings a vibrancy and verve that elevates their subjects from the everyday into a world of incorporeal, kaleidoscopic beauty. Thus, the artists present compositions that are both familiar and surreal, and are decidedly rich, bold, and relentlessly striking.
Sacred Masses will be on view at Library Street Collective from January 11, 2025 - March 12, 2025.
