Library Street Collective is pleased to participate in the inaugural edition of the Season Art Fair with a presentation of work by Benita Nnenna Nnachortam and Romeo Okwara. Okwara, a Nigerian-born, Detroit-based photographer and former NFL athlete, is currently pursuing an MFA in Photography at Cranbrook Academy of Art. His practice is a personal and evolving exploration of identity, storytelling, and observation, centering moments of resilience, camaraderie, and everyday humanity that often go unseen. Nnachortam, a Cranbrook Academy of Art alumna born in Lagos and working in Nigeria and the United States, reconstructs fragmented narratives of heritage shaped by generations of cross-cultural influence. Through a multidisciplinary approach combining photography, textiles, collage, and sound she gives form to the fragility and resilience of cultural memory. Together, the two artists demonstrate a shared commitment to cultural preservation and the shaping of identity through the act of creation.
